From research to clinical application

The Institute of Biotherapies aims to accelerate the development of innovative biotherapies for rare diseases.

By bringing together three research centres that are world leaders in biotherapies, the Institute of Biotherapies combines a comprehensive range of cutting-edge expertise and know-how, from fundamental research concepts to their clinical application in humans.

This translational research and development structure brings together more than 600 experts from diverse and complementary backgrounds and fields of expertise.

  • Fundamental research teams in molecular and cellular biology, dedicated to specific rare genetic diseases or to developing new therapeutic concepts;
  • R&D specialists capable of translating these fundamental concepts into therapies for patients, through every stage of preclinical development;
  • Experts covering all aspects of clinical development: project management, medical affairs, regulatory affairs, technology transfer and production.

This expertise supports projects originating from the laboratories that are members of the Institute of Biotherapies, as well as those developed through international collaborations with leading academic teams or private-sector partners.
